Elis Regina: Aguas de Marco

Perhaps the definitive song in the Brazilian “Bossa Nova” canon is “Águas de Março,” “The Waters of March” by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This song repeats two short melodic themes, with slight variations in tempo, over a deceivingly simple sounding set of chord changes. The lyrics are a list of impressions as if the singer

Is William A. Donohue of the Catholic League a modern-day Hitler?

"Hitler was a Roman Catholic, baptized into that religio-political institution as an infant in Austria. He became a communicant and an altar boy in his youth and was confirmed as a "soldier of Christ" in that church. Its worst doctrines never left him. He was steeped in its liturgy, which contained the words "perfidious jew." This hateful statement was not removed until 1961. "Perfidy" means treachery... In his day, hatred of Jews was the norm. In great measure it was sponsored by two major religions of Germany, Catholicism, and Lutheranism."
http://www.secularhumanism.org/library/fi/murphy_19_2.html
Not unlike Hitler, Donohue and his organization, thinks he is a soldier of Christ but enjoys crucifying those who doesn't worship his ideologies.
Do not have any other gods before Me.
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
Exodus 20:2–17
Is Donohue actually promoting his own version of a god?
:Why is it so easy to everybody to Hitler?" asks Heretic Savant.
Why not? People ought to learn from history and not be persuaded to follow the same example of the dumb Nazi citizens of Nazi Germany in putting faith in another similiarly evil and self-serving lunatic in today's world. Lunatics like Osama Bin Ladin, Bill Donahue, Muqtada al-Sadr prey on the minds of those with hate in their hearts. Lunatics are very dangerous as they instill division and promote prejudice and hate. And these lunatics tend to promote hatred in the name of God or in the name of justice.
Brother G The Mormon, we should never take for granted that people of other religions, that differ from our own, don't have the intelligence to speak out.
The Third Reich gave Nazis the right to congregate in the Reich Church: http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/church_in_nazi_germany.htm
Hitler certainly found a clever way to draw followers. And with enough support. he also found a way to act like a god. Subsequently destroying all other religions and non-Reich faith believers was his ultimate way for total control of Germany and other nations. The looney knew how to expand his power!

Tagged!

Her Most Awesomest has tagged me.10 years ago: Now how am I supposed to remember 10 years ago??? Geeez. I know I was living in NYC and working in book publishing. Think SATC but without the Manolos. I think I had also just broken up with my boyfriend who I lived with on the Upper East Side in a fabulous rent controlled apartment – I thought we would get married but instead I moved further uptown.8 years ago: Still living in NYC working in book publishing (see above).
